BORN: in 1643, probably on Isle of Wight, England; probably second son. IMMIGRATED: ca. 1655 as a minor with his father and brother. RESIDED in Anne Arundel County. FAMILY BACKGROUND. FATHER: Thomas Hammond, a colonel in the Parliamentary army. BROTHER: Thomas Hammond. MARRIED first, Mary (?-by 1678), daughter of Matthew Howard and wife Ann. Her brothers were Cornelius Howard (2-1680), Matthew (ca. 1640-1692/93), who married Sarah Dorsey; Samuel; John; and Philip, who married Ruth Baldwin. Her sisters were Elizabeth, who married Henry Ridgeley (2-1710); Anne. Her nephew was Matthew Howard (ca. 1675-1750). Her nieces were Sarah Howard, who married first, John Worthington (1650-1701), and second, John Brice (2-1713); Hannah Howard, who married first, Charles Hammond (ca. 1670-1713), and second, Edmond Benson (1687-1734), MARRIED second, by November 1678 Mary, widow of (first name unknown) Roper. CHILDREN.
